Joshua Bradley's Experience:
-
President at ShopDragon, LLC
December 2008 - November 2012As the President of ShopDragon, I was responsible primarily for the business needs and marketing efforts, while working closely with my partner, the CTO, on product development. Leading the fundraising efforts, I raised nearly $500,000 from angel investors in Oregon and Ireland while creating a profile as one of the most exciting up-and-coming startups in the state. We were semi-finalists in the statewide Angel Oregon conference and finalists at the Willamette Angel Conference in 2009. After launch we quickly attracted small businesses to our ecommerce platform and in 2012, all of our active businesses saw year-over-year growth. Additionally in 2012, ShopDragon saw its first month of profitability. Our marketing efforts were grass-roots, community driven and heavily focused on social media. Using my expertise in these areas, we provided consulting for our merchants, helping them use technology and tools such as Kickstarter to grow their businesses both online and in their own communities.
-
Vice President of Marketing & Business Development at ecoSolutions Intl
December 2003 - December 2008I was the first employee, wearing many hats, but my primary role in was to head up our marketing efforts and business development. We branded several types of eco-friendly materials that were co-opted by manufacturers, allowing us to both create products and materials using our brands and license them to multiple manufacturers in a single category. In my time at EcoSolutions I developed the branding and licensing of materials, worked with factories in Taiwan and China to develop materials specifically for the US market, signed Ed Begley Jr. as a spokesperson for our brands, created programs for companies such as WalMart and Payless Shoesource, and was integral in the process of taking the company public in 2008.
-
Owner at DEZAIN Studios
2001 - 2004I created DEZAIN Studios to provide leading edge digital design and marketing services focused primarily on small businesses. Our expertise spanned traditional branding and marketing services, but also included website design, online marketing, video and multimedia production. We offered consultation and project management so that marketing efforts were delivered as expected and woven into our client's existing business practices, instead of just providing deliverables.
-
Teacher at Southern Oregon University
1999 - 2002As an instructor for the extended campus program, I designed a track of courses related to web design and marketing. The courses covered both theory and practice of web design using a suite of Macromedia products. Most of the people taking the courses were small business owners, so the curriculum included a significant amount of time on how to use the Internet to market and grow their businesses. I created the curriculum and taught the Introduction to Technology courses to students of grade 9-12 at Ashland High School
-
Marketing/Entrepreneur at Project A/iLand Cafe
2000 - 2001iLand Cafe was a startup idea that married community to technology and education. At Project A I worked on marketing and design for targeted clients while cultivating iLand and raising funding to launch it.
-
Manager of Information Systems at The Jack Morton Company
1997 - 1999As the manager of technology for the Boston office, I was in charge of the information systems team, creating and managing a budget of over $200,000 per year and supporting and maintaining the local network. Later, in addition to my Boston role, I became the network manager for the entire company, with a wide area network spanning thirteen offices nationwide and the entire communications infrastructure. Additionally, I had the opportunity to work creatively on two major product launches for clients, the Gillette Mach 3 Razor and the Kodak/AOL joint venture to bring photo printing to the Internet.
